Our BeginningsMary Jones – the little girl who started it all… A Welsh girl named Mary Jones was so moved by the words she read from the Bible as a ten year old, that she resolved to do everything possible to have her own copy of the Bible. Read about how her stoic determination and love for God’s Word touched Rev Charles, who found her a Bible, and made him think what could be done for others such as Mary. |
|
Our Challenges & TasksThe need for the Word of God is overwhelming… At that time when Mary Jones set out to buy her own Bible, God’s Word or parts of the Bible had been translated into only 67 languages. Today parts of the Bible have been translated into over 2,527 languages, a mere one third of the 6, 809 spoken in the world. |

A Note from the Gen SecAt The Bible Society of Singapore, we hold fast to God’s Word as mentioned in John 1:14 (ESV), “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth”. We believe that we can meet the needs of our societies when people receive the Living Word in their hearts. This is why we endeavour to bring the Bible to all peoples, using various methods present in today’s society. |
