Following the devastating 7.7 magnitude earthquake that struck Myanmar on Friday, 28 March, countless lives have been lost, communities left in ruins, and thousands are in urgent need of aid. We thank you for your prayers as we have obtained a permit from the Commissioner of Charities (CoC) to fundraise for Myanmar. We call for your support as the Bible Society works closely with our missionaries on the ground to deliver critical humanitarian relief—such as tarpaulin sheets, blankets and mosquito nets, solar panels, food, emergency supplies, and Scriptures—to the afflicted who are now enduring heavy unseasonal rains that are drenching homeless survivors and hampering relief efforts.
Thawng Tha Thang, Associate General Secretary of Myanmar Evangelical Christian Alliance (MECA), shared, “The earthquake heavily affected the cities of Mandalay, Sagaing, Inlay, Mithila, as well as the capital city of Naypyidaw. Infrastructures continue to collapse and families have lost not just their homes, but also their loved ones and the people they once knew. Our people’s sense of safety is worsening day by day with the ongoing political challenges. We ask for your help to save and help our people.”

Through this fundraising effort, we hope to raise SGD200,000 or more to support over 5,000 families directly affected by the earthquake. To gain a wider reach across the country, the Bible Society works closely with the Bible Society of Myanmar and Myanmar Evangelical Christian Alliance (MECA) to provide the Word of Hope and humanitarian assistance to those suffering in Myanmar. Please stand with us and with the people of Myanmar in this time of great need.

2025年3月28日（周五），缅甸遭受7.7级强烈地震，造成重大伤亡，社区沦为废墟，数以千计的人急需援助。感谢您的代祷，新加坡圣经公会已获慈善总监(CoC) 许可，开展缅甸赈灾募款。诚邀您与我们及当地宣教士携手，向受灾民众提供紧急人道救援物资，包括防水帆布、毛毯、蚊帐、太阳能板、食品、应急物资及《圣经》。目前，灾区正遭受不合时节的暴雨侵袭，无家可归者苦不堪言，救援行动亦因此受阻。
缅甸福音派基督徒联盟（MECA）副总干事 Thawng Tha Thang 表示：“此次地震对曼德勒、实皆、茵莱、密铁拉及首都内比都等地造成严重破坏。基础设施持续倒塌，许多家庭不仅失去家园，更痛失至亲与故友。持续动荡的政治局势叠加灾情更令民众人心惶惶。我们恳请各方伸出援手，救助我们的同胞。”
