From Generation to Generation: Sharing Hope Across Nations this Lunar New Year

Country: Global/Local

Ministry: All projects

“The righteous will flourish like a palm tree… planted in the house of the Lord, they will flourish in the courts of our God.”—Psalm 92:12–13

As families gather to celebrate the Lunar New Year—a season of reunion, reflection, and renewal—many Chinese believers around the world are facing a very different reality. While some enjoy abundance and joy, others are holding on to faith amid hardship, displacement, and uncertainty. Yet in every corner of the world, the same heartfelt prayer rises: “Lord, do not forget us.”

Across China and beyond, the global Chinese Church continues to live out its faith quietly yet steadfastly. In remote villages and crowded cities, believers gather in small groups to read the Word. In regions where faith cannot be freely expressed, they cling to God’s promises, teaching their children Scripture so that the flame of faith will never die out.

In places like Myanmar, many Chinese families have been forced from their homes by conflict and disaster, seeking refuge in the wilderness with nothing but the clothes on their backs. When our partners arrived with food, aid, and financial support, they were overwhelmed with relief and gratitude. One pastor shared, “They endured hunger and cold for over a hundred days, yet they continued to pray, believing that God had not forgotten them.”

Throughout Asia, the Chinese diaspora continues to grow, with millions scattered across nations, searching for belonging, stability, and meaning. Many  wrestle with loneliness and cultural barriers, while parents struggle to pass on their faith to the next generation. Churches serving these diaspora communities often lack trained leaders, discipleship materials, and even enough Bibles for those eager to know Christ.

The Bible Society of Singapore continues to sow seeds of Scripture that bring comfort, healing, and hope. Through Bible distributions, pastoral training, and family ministries, lives are being restored and faith being renewed.

But the needs remain great; many in rural and remote villages still do not have easy access to the Bible. Others long for spiritual guidance and leaders who can nurture them in truth and strength. This Lunar New Year, your giving can help bring the light of God’s Word to Chinese families who need it most by:

  1. Bringing Scripture and care to those suffering and displaced
  2. Supporting Bible education and leadership training in local churches
  3. Strengthening Chinese diaspora families around the world

As you celebrate reunion and blessing this Lunar New Year, will you extend that blessing to others? Together, let us share the living hope of Christ across generations and nations—bringing light and renewal to hearts and homes, and uniting the global Chinese family in God’s love.
