On 10 December, the General Secretary attended The Alphabet Project (TAP) Year-End Children’s Party held at Waka Waka @ Furama Riverfront Hotel. SowCare was one of the partnering organisations with Hope Initiative Alliance in organising this event to reach out and care for children from low-income families.

On 23 November, the General Secretary was invited to speak at the Ministers’ Fellowship International Singapore (MFIS) Thanksgiving Dinner held at Harvest Care Centre.
Colours of the Bible (COB) and Bible and Chinese Culture Festival (BCCF) Exhibition Opening Ceremony
On 22 November, the General Secretary gave the opening address for the Colours of the Bible (COB) and the Bible and Chinese Culture Festival (BCCF) Opening Ceremony held at Visual Arts Centre. We are grateful for the many years of partnership with the Embassy of Israel in Singapore for the annual Colours of the Bible Art Competition and Exhibition.
Visit from the Nanjing Amity Printing Company
On 21 November, the General Secretary received a delegation from the Nanjing Amity Printing Company who visited the Bible House in Singapore. We thank God for the years of partnership with Nanjing Amity Printing Company for the production of numerous Bibles.

GoForth 2023 Closing Service
On 18 November, the General Secretary attended the GoForth 2023 Closing Service held at International Baptist Church. We thank God for the partnership with the Singapore Baptist Convention and the Evangelical Alliance of Singapore for GoForth 2023, which saw over 4,000 participants in attendance across the various programmes throughout the year.

On 16 November, the General Secretary was invited to attend the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) Partners’ Appreciation Event held at Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel.

On 6 November, the General Secretary met with Dr Sas Conradie from the World Evangelical Alliance (WEA) Global Generosity Network and Tearfund to discuss opportunities for collaboration and partnership.
Migrant Workers’ Together in Singapore Gala Dinner
On 5 November, the General Secretary attended the Together in Singapore Gala Dinner for Migrant Workers held at Kranji Recreation Centre. The Minister of State for Culture, Community and Youth & Trade and Industry, Mr Alvin Tan, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour. SowCare and the Alliance of Indian Ministries partnered with Hope Initiative Alliance to host this dinner to appreciate the migrant workers of Singapore as part of International Migrants Month.

From 23 October to 27 October 2023, the General Secretary was invited to attend the Asia Evangelical Alliance’s (AEA) 40th Anniversary and the Asian Church and Mission in a New Landscape (ACML’40) Conference held at Sentul International Convention Centre.

On 10 October, SowCare was invited to attend the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) Homelessness Learning Forum held at Kampung Siglap Lifeskills Training & Retreat Centre. The General Secretary and the SowCare team were presented with the COVID resilience award during the event.

On 6 October, the General Secretary met up with the CEO of the Lausanne Movement, Dr Michael Oh, to discuss collaboration and partnership opportunities.
Kumbayah! Pastors’ Appreciation Luncheon
On 6 October 2023, the General Secretary attended the Kumbayah! Pastors’ Appreciation Luncheon held at the Fullerton Hotel Singapore, where he was invited to give a speech. The event was organised by LoveSingapore, co-organised by Evangelical Alliance of Singapore (EAS) and Alliance of Pentecostal and Charismatic Churches of Singapore (APCCS), and supported by the National Council of Churches of Singapore (NCCS).

MOM National Awards (COVID-19) Ceremony
On 21 September 2023, the General Secretary was invited to the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) National Awards (COVID-19) Ceremony to receive the COVID-19 Resilience Medal Award. Various staff of the Bible Society and SowCare also received the COVID-19 Resilience Medal Award for their faithful contributions to the community during the COVID-19 Circuit Breaker period in 2020.

On 13 September 2023, the General Secretary met up with Rev Dr Joshua Ting , former General Secretary of Chinese Coordination Centre of World Evangelism to discuss partnership opportunities in reaching out to Chinese communities around the world.
SG Cares Community Networking Session 2023 (SSO@Bedok & Geylang Serai)
On 11 September 2023, the Social Service (SSO) @ Bedok and Geylang Serai invited the General Secretary to attend the SG Cares Community Networking Session 2023 to foster greater collaboration in serving the needs of the community in Bedok and Geylang Serai. This session was co-led by the Minister for National Development and Minister-in-charge of Social Services Integration, Mr Desmond Lee, the Senior Minister of State for Communications and Information & National Development, Mr Tan Kiat How, and the Mayor of South East District, Mr Mohd Fahmi bin Aliman.
Visit of Chinese students from Baptist Theological Seminary
On 5 September 2023, the Bible Society hosted a group of Chinese students from the Baptist Theological Seminary (BTS) at the Bible House as part of their educational tour to witness our mission works to Southeast Asia. The General Secretary was present to welcome the students.

BSS Bicentennial Bible Mission Banquet 2023
On 7 July, the Bible Society hosted the Bicentennial Bible Mission Banquet 2023 to commemorate our 200th year of the Bible Mission in Singapore since the first 1,000 Chinese New Testaments were distributed by our pioneers such as Rev Dr Robert Morrison and Sir Stamford Raffles. We are grateful to Mr Desmond Lee, Minister for National Development and Minister-in-charge of Social Services Integration, for gracing the occasion as the Guest of Honour. We are also grateful to Dr Stephen Riady for sponsoring the banquet and to all our guests for their attendance and support.
Luncheon with Overseas Leaders Hosted by Executive Director of Far East Organization
On 7 July, the General Secretary attended a luncheon hosted by Mrs Dorothy Chan, Executive Director of Far East Organization. Overseas Christian leaders attending the Bicentennial Bible Mission Banquet were also invited to the luncheon. The Bible Society of Singapore is grateful to Mrs Dorothy Chan and Far East Organization for hosting the luncheon and for their many years of supporting the mission fields through their generous giving.

National Awards (COVID-19) Investiture 2023
On 18 June, the General Secretary was invited to attend the National Awards (COVID-19) Investiture 2023 to receive the President’s Certificate of Commendation (COVID-19) of behalf of Hope Initiative Alliance for its role in serving the vulnerable communities at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Tung Ling Graduation Lunch
On 30 June, the General Secretary was invited to attend the Tung Ling Graduation Lunch. He was one of the lecturers at the Chinese School of Ministry.

Asia Evangelical Alliance Executive Committee Annual Meeting
From 29 May to 1 June, the General Secretary attended the Asia Evangelical Alliance Executive Council Annual Meeting held at Anyang, Korea. The General Secretary is currently the Secretary of the Executive Committee and chairs the Digital and Media Commission.
World Evangelical Alliance International Council Meeting
From 18 May to 24 May, the General Secretary attended the World Evangelical Alliance International Council Meeting held at Johannesburg, South Africa. The General Secretary is currently a member of the International Council and Special Envoy to China and Chinese Territories.
Meeting with Bible Academy and the Chinese Ministry of the British & Foreign Bible Society
On 7 May, the General Secretary met up with Rev Dr Andrew Ollerton, the Head of Bible Academy and the author of The Bible Course, and Ms Arleen Luo, Head of the Chinese Ministry of British & Foreign Bible Society for potential collaboration in Bible resources.

Interfaith Community Iftar @ Heartbeat Bedok
On 5 April, the General Secretary attended the interfaith Community Iftar held at Heartbeat @ Bedok, where meals and gifts were distributed to disadvantaged families under the ComLink family initiative with the Social Service Office @ Bedok. The Senior Minister of State for Communications and Information & National Development, Mr Tan Kiat How, was the Guest of Honour.
Interfaith Community Iftar @ Ramakrishna Mission
On 19 April, the General Secretary attended the interfaith Community Iftar held at Ramakrishna Mission, where meals and gifts were distributed to disadvantaged children and their families, including the children staying in the Ramakrishna Mission Boys’ Home.

On 26 April, the General Secretary met up with the Fellowship of Missional Organisations in Singapore (FOMOS) to discuss potential collaborations in Missions through GoForth 2023.

Meeting with MOM ACE Group
On 8 March, the General Secretary met up with the Chief and Directors of the Assurance, Care and Engagement (ACE) Group in the Ministry of Manpower to discuss future collaborations in serving the migrant workers in Singapore.
Parliamentary Session on 20 March 2023
On 20 March, the General Secretary was invited to attend the Singapore Parliament Session on 20 March 2023, where he was seated amongst frontliners and others who contributed towards tackling the COVID-19 pandemic. Hope Initiative Alliance (HIA) and partners were among the other frontliners that received a standing ovation for their role in caring for the migrant workers in Singapore during the pandemic.

On 2 February, the General Secretary met up with the founders of Maple Bear Preschools in Singapore to discuss collaborations with SowCare in reaching out to children from low-income families, particularly in the area of literacy.
Meeting with Singapore Chinese Joint Missions (SCJM)
On 7 February, the General Secretary met up with the Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the Singapore Chinese Joint Missions (SCJM) to discuss collaborations for the Mandarin Track of the GoForth National Missions Conference 2023, which the Bible Society is a supporting partner of.
GoForth National Missions Conference 2023 Commencement Service
On 18 February, the General Secretary attended the GoForth National Missions Conference 2023 Commencement Service, which will launch a series of GoForth programmes across various tracks on missions across 2023. We pray that through GoForth 2023, more Christians will be inspired to be involved in missions, and be informed on the work of missions in Singapore and around the world.
