Continuity with Innovation, Faithful in Every Generation: 2025 Singapore-Malaysia Pastors and Leaders’ Summit Concludes Successfully

The Bible Society of Singapore Collaborates with Regional Churches and Christian Organisations to Deepen Faith Transmission and Envision the Future of Mission
At a critical juncture of rapid societal transformation and Church renewal, the 2025 Singapore-Malaysia Pastors and Leaders’ Summit was successfully held from 12 to 14 May 2025 in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. Organised by the World Chinese Christianity Alliance (WCA), a movement under the World Evangelical Alliance, and co-organised by the Singapore Chinese Christianity Alliance and the Malaysia Chinese Christianity Alliance, and supported by organisations including The Bible Society of Singapore, the summit brought together over 260 pastoral leaders, theologians, and cross-disciplinary experts from ten countries and regions. Centred on the theme “Continuity with Innovation, Faithful in Every Generation”, the summit addressed the pressing challenges faced by Chinese-speaking churches today—particularly in areas of faith transmission and cultural transformation.
Uniting Vision to Respond to the Times
Throughout the summit, distinguished speakers shared insights and strategies on key issues such as “How Faith is Passed Down Across Generations” and “How the Church Can Respond to the Digital Age and Ethical Challenges”. Topics ranged from Church governance, pastoral practice, media evangelism, and cultural engagement to spiritual leadership development. Through thoughtful engagement with global and local dynamics, the speakers helped attendees reflect on how the Church might faithfully and fruitfully navigate the complexities of our times.
As a key supporting organisation, The Bible Society of Singapore played an active role in the planning and participation of the event, standing in solidarity with regional partners to bear witness to the enduring relevance and transformative power of God’s Word across cultures and generations.
Mutual Learning and Partnership for the Journey Ahead
In addition to plenary sessions, the summit featured thematic forums and strategic dialogues that fostered spiritual exchange across regions and generations. Representatives from The Bible Society of Singapore engaged meaningfully with church leaders from various nations, exploring areas such as shared Bible Mission resources, cross-cultural ministry, and discipleship strategies—laying groundwork for deeper collaboration.
A Legacy of Mission, A Journey Across Generations
More than just a conference of ideas and strategy, the summit became a sacred gathering of spiritual resonance and vision alignment. Many participants expressed a strong desire for such summits to be held regularly, as a means to strengthen regional cooperation and respond collectively to God’s call in this generation.
In response to this shared aspiration, the organisers announced two major follow-up initiatives:
- A Southeast Asia Pastors and Leaders Strategic Roundtable will be held from 7 to 8 April 2026, bringing together key pastors and decision-makers for deep strategic dialogue in preparation for the next summit;
- The Southeast Asia Pastors and Leaders’ Summit will take place in May 2027, broadening the international scope of collaboration and building a cross-cultural, cross-generational, and cross-sector platform to unite mission-minded churches across Asia.
Rooted in Scripture, Building the Church of Our Times Together
The Bible Society of Singapore firmly believes that, even in an age of rapid change, the truth of Scripture remains the unshakeable foundation of Church growth and renewal. This summit not only showcased the collective wisdom of the Chinese-speaking Church community but also signaled the emergence of a spiritual synergy that transcends national, generational, and institutional boundaries.
In keeping with its mission to “Make the Word of God Known” and “Impact Lives with God’s Word”, The Bible Society of Singapore remains committed to partnering with regional churches—to advance faith transmission, disciple-making, and the faithful engagement of culture in this generation and beyond.
